Trump claims US ‘obliterated’ Iran nuclear sites; world awaits Supreme Leader Khamenei’s response

• Iran vows response: Iranian military officials and members of parliament vowed the US will pay a price for its strikes Iran’s nuclear sites. Tehran also denounced the US and Israel at an emergency UN Security Council meeting. There has been no word yet from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

• Damage assessment: President Donald Trump claimed US bombers “obliterated” three Iranian nuclear sites, and alluded to the possibility of regime change in Iran. Military officials in Israel and the US, however, are still assessing how significant of a blow it dealt to Tehran’s program.

• Iran-Israel conflict enters its 11th day: Both countries have continued to trade strikes. Early Monday, Iranian state-affiliated media reported Israel struck a large military complex in Iran.

A wave of Iranian missiles disrupted the electricity supply to “several communities” in southern Israel on Monday, according to Israel’s electricity company.

It came after strikes hit “adjacent to a strategic infrastructure facility,” the Israel Electric Company said in a statement.
