• Middle East meetings: President Donald Trump is expected to hold a meeting on Gaza today to discuss a “very comprehensive plan” to end Israel’s war, according to special envoy Steve Witkoff.

• Tariffs on India doubled: Trump hit India with a 50% tariff on imports, weeks after instituting a 25% baseline tariff. He previously said this latest round seeks to punish India for importing Russian oil during Moscow’s war in Ukraine.

• Law enforcement crackdown: Trump said his administration will seek the death penalty in murder cases in Washington, DC. The president is hoping to replicate his law enforcement efforts in Los Angeles and DC in cities across the country, with Chicago being the next city possibly in his sight.

The Department of Transportation is planning to reclaim the management over Washington, DC’s Union Station, a move coming after President Donald Trump has escalated the deployment of troops in the nation’s capital.

“Instead of being a point of pride, Washington’s Union Station has fallen into disrepair,” said Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy in a statement. “By reclaiming station management, we will help make this city safe and beautiful at a fraction of the cost.”
