• Amazon said its cloud computing services unit AWS is showing “significant signs of recovery” after being hit by an outage which disrupted several popular websites and apps across the world including Snapchat, Facebook and Fortnite.
• A rapidly growing list of sites are experiencing issues, according to Downdetector, which tracks internet disruptions. Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and AI firm Perplexity also reported disruptions.
• AWS said it had identified a root cause and was working to accelerate recovery. We’ll be bringing you the latest as we get it.
As promised, AWS is keeping customers up to date with its investigation into the outages. From its recent statement, it appears there has been progress as customers are encouraged to try accessing the services disrupted earlier again.
