• Deadly anti-government protests have rocked Iran for more than 10 days in a wave of nationwide unrest over crippling economic conditions.

• An internet blackout across the country imposed by the authorities has passed its 36th hour, according to a watchdog. Authorities had cut internet access and telephone lines in Tehran and other cities on Thursday.

• US President Donald Trump has threatened to attack Iran if security forces respond with force. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged Trump to “focus on his own country” and blamed the US for inciting the protests.

The head of the Iranian Army has urged the Iranian people to “remain vigilant” and called for unity and national cohesion to “prevent the enemy from achieving its malicious goals.”

“Today, the enemy, with yet another plot and with the support of the criminal Zionist regime and hostile terrorist groups, seeks to disrupt the order and calm of the cities and undermine public security in the country,” Amir Hatami, commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army, said in a statement shared with Iranian state media.
